First one is best IMO, may be because the girl looks really cute too but the contrast fit well, others shot are way too contrasty. The teapot one is nice too
P.S: You're in the UK?

Oh dear. Now you've got me worried.
I just dusted off my dad's old XA and haven't got the first rolls back. I live in Israel, so think of ultra-contrast as the default: maybe not such a good idea to load Velvia 100 as the most recent roll...
Are you sure your shutter isn't off? - I just say because it seems all the photos are all consistently over-exposed... Otherwise, I may have to cross-process the present film...

Also looks like this little pocket gem is in need of some TLC in the form of new light seals. A kit is available very cheaply on Ebay from Interslice.

The over exposed ones have a lot of white background in them - were you using the +1.5 backlight switch or not?

They are overexposed.
Check:
1. The ASA setting on the camera against the film.
2. Batteries, new?
3. The XA has two meters, one of them may not be doing its job.

Thanks for all the comments. The seals could probably do with sorting so i'll follow that up. I think exposure is ok, I developed that roll myself.. Which is probably why it was a little overexposed. I had a roll of bog standard colour done and it came out fine. As I said, it was a very bright day, so I don't think I could've kept the sky in on quite a few of them.
I'll post back when i've been through the next roll. Picked up a Oly MJUII the other day, which has been getting more use of late. I'm also going through some MF stuff.
Cheers again.

Is that the guitarist from the Lovvers in the first two shots? I notice that you are from Nottingham, and it looks a lot like him.

Quite contrasty; what about the film?

Bad really bad. I'll have to get one of mine out and give it a try. Maybe the meter dies with age and leads to that over exposure. Don't know if there is anything you could do about that.
Another possibility, though, is the shutter. A repair shop told me the old XA's are all getting relaxed shutter springs and lead to poor exposure accuracy. Would kind of make sense, since slower shutter speeds would lead to overexposure, of course.

I needn't have worried. Seems mine's exposing fine.
Loved that apartment :-(
Anyway, I'd send yours off to get checked. Something's definitely not right...
