I believe these are, in fact, very rare. First introduced in '38 and, I believe, only made until the war. Probably wouldn't focus correctly on a standard LTM camera, but a heck of a collectible. f/2 through f/18 according to Princelle.

I've only ever seen them pictured on the Fed-S. But this one is on the loose...

Nice ebay find. I always thought because of its production era the lens was fitted to the body and will have issues properly working with other LTM cameras.

Not only rare but it makes beautiful classic images. If I didn't have three already I'd bid as the price is good. Be warned that it is not set to standard Leica registration and may have to be adjusted for your camera. BTW there was a recent thread discussing this lens in some detail with some examples I posted.

Wow, outfitter, those pictures are distinctive indeed. I wonder who would set one up for Leica standard...Brian S. perhaps?
Maybe I'll throw in a bid.

did anyone here win this lens? I would love to see more pictures, my 'first' roll is still underway in the FED S that I use this lens on!

HEADS UP:
There's a new one on eBay: item nr. 260379930855
MOST IMPORTANT IS THIS: this lens belongs on a FED S which is a high-shutterspeed FED 1, with a top speed of 1/1000th. Onle 2000 approx were made.
The matching camera is put up for sale as well, the seller doesn't know what he has, he matched it with a different lens! Here's your chance to get a truly rare FED S! Camera item nr is 250392409114
I would pick this up myself, even though I already own a FED S, but have just today dished out on another lens and cannot spare the cash.
I'd rather have it go to someone here than else, so I can at least see some shots from it in the future

Actually the "header" photo isn't of the same camera, it's a later FED 1g, with the standard FED collapsible I-10The matching camera is put up for sale as well, the seller doesn't know what he has, he matched it with a different lens!

And the seller describes the camera as a Fed 1 made in 1954. Ask before you bid!
