Hi,
after two months having fun with my R-D1 (and still working also with a D300) I´m not sure about the film-presets in the menue. What are the best choices for color and b/w. For example I dont get the hard b/w-contrast from my sold LC1, shown at the cloudy pic.
What are your favorite presets?
Thanks a lot,
Rainer

I am still figuring this out. Like the built-in 'filters', this only applies to the in-camera jpeg conversion. I will be testing, comparing in-camera filters to the real thing shortly.
Don't think I will be using the in-camera jpeg much except for quick previewing.
Panasonics LC1 is like the Digilux 2. I use the D2 on lowest contrast setting. If I want higher contrast clouds I take a red filter. I don't really like in-camera contrast boost I think.
Maybe only for low contrast weather. But I also like old low-contrast glass...

Woww, thank´s Rob
I was wondering your talking about filters and thought you mean the film-presets. So I just had a look at the manual. Till now I wasn´t aware of built-in filters. Great, I love my R-D1 and will have a look at this for the next time.
LC1/DL2 is a very nice cam with a very good lens in terms of vignetting and distorsions. I had a lot of fun with the LC1, getting back the feeling for aperture and time. But at least I sold it cause the noisy chip, even at b/w. And its very difficult to get a nice bokeh with the very small chip.
