This is only the second roll of film that I have ever taken with this lens [a Summitar and not a Summarit!]. I like the results.

Raid,

Awwwwww that`s fine!!!!! 😀

Wonder if my Kriegsmarine Xenon will shoot boats that good? LOL!!!!!!

Summarit`s and Xenon`s are Leica`s ignored jewels 😉 ~ They both have had a bad rap for years, and now finally after 60+ years people are starting to see the classic Leica "Glow" when using these lenses, the look is what Leica was all about back in the good ole daze......

I`m still going to come up and see you someday, I so look forward to shooting on the North Western Gulf Coast of Florida 🙂

Tom

PS: I just won a "minty" original screw-on Leitz Summarit Green Filter the other day on Ebay, I can`t wait to try that on my Xenon, and I`ll be getting another Summarit to look at/test soon, so I might have my 56' Summarit for sale?

"Finding Nemo", "Mine, Mine, Mine..."

Summarit 5cm F2.0? Is this with the Summarit F1.5 or the Summitar F2? I do that all the time...

Hi Tom,

I made a mistake; it was a Summitar and not a Summarit. Sorry.

Letme know when your travels take you here, Tom.

Raid,
I really like the last to pics. I've got this lens coming, and I hope the results will compare to yours. The images seem close to what I am getting with my Summicron 50/2 and my Summar 50/2.

See where my brain is thinking about Xenon`s and Summarit`s all the time.....I thought it was Yellow filter #2 LOL!!!!!!!!

Yeah I`m on a Xenon binge now, that "wartime" Xenon seems to have been made for shooting my pinup and fetish styles!

I really need to get my Muse up to the North Western Beaches and shoot some 1930`s styled artistic nudes in the sand dunes........

But, in working with my "wartime" uncoated Summitar`s I find that using them in color is what I like to do best with them 🙂

Tom

Tom,

I had the wrong title for the thread. I called the lens a Summarit 5cm 2.0.
All vintage Leitz lenses are good for portraits.

Brian and I have been swarming about the old Zeiss with color photos.

Is the yellow and orange filter not meant for making the blues darker, more pronounced. The sky in you picture, though I like it also very much, seems quite hazy.....

btw I have doubles of some of the original Leitz filters for the Summitar. If you are interested Raid or others just send a pm.

I will send you a pm, Ron.
That day, there was fog, so the sky's look was affected.
