Lynx-14: How do I know if it works?

Didn't realize they were that heavy...

Did it leave a dent in the roof? :D

You could probably leave it in the trunk in Winter to help with traction...

I just picked one of these up. It seems ok, but the battery compartment doesn't open, and there's some greenish residue around it ... should I be worried?

All reasons to count metering gone. Battery has leaked inside compartment, and as 5000e/14e have battery in upper part of body near(over?) circuit, there' big chance circuit got damaged.

Take a look Yashica Guy's site, he describes how to free such compartment. Use white vinegar.

I know, this may sound scary though if rest works, you have got great camera. Handheld meter and guessmeter will do the job.

if you open the top cover (firstly remove the wind and rewind lever), you can easily clean the battery area as the cover is attached on the cover. but may be I am wrong.

anyway, just grab a small & cheap gossen pilot, make a small bracket and it will be a great combo for your lynx !! FORGET mercury battery !!!:p
