I don't know where to get an answer to this question. I have been using M cameras for years. I bought a Digilux 2 to use at my sons wedding it has worked fine for about 1000 images. Then now I get memory card error as soon as the card is pluged in. I put 3 new cards in & get the same error. The camera works fine w/out the card in. It will not let me reformat either. If some one has had the same problem, or what I might do. Thank's in advance.

Probably you plugged in a new SD HC (High Capacity) Card? Older cameras can't handle those cards. You have to use the older SD cards mostly with a capacity of max. 2GB

I have taken the batt. out I also have reset the camera. The card I use are only 2gb. any other ideas. is there another hard reset I can do?

You said they are three new cards. You're sure they're not SDHC?

If they're all new and all the same brand, try another brand. Is there anything you can see with a flashlight shorting the card contacts or blocking a contact, like a piece of paper?

I have tried 4 brands. The one that came in the camera worked, then just stopped. I made sure they were 2gb & smaller.

If you have access to a PC, format them as FAT (not FAT32), then see if they are recognized after resetting the camera.

If they're not readable on the PC, the cards might be bad. If they are readable, and the above doesn't work, then the camera may need repair (card contacts cleaned).
