Jon, stop showing these Nikon RF photos please ....

Most expensive cameras that I bought were a Leica MP (used) for 241.000 JPY and an Epson R-D1s for 249.000 JPY (new). Have sold both cameras since then with no or little loss and won't pay over $2000 for a camera soon ... Lenses, that's a different topic, though.

Around 3200 USD including 3 year extended warranty for the Canon EOS 5D Mark II bought last year in October.
It was certainly very big expenses for me at that time, but it was bought for panorama work, event photography jobs, wedding etc... So far, every time I look at the output image quality of this camera, I have no regrets

I think I've spent more money for CLA's and other repair jobs than for my cameras.

Brian, you did stop-frame?
Have any of your animations somewhere online? I'd be curious...
The most expensive was for me the fuji gw690ii. I payed 500 euro for it, if i remember correctly. Or was it 500$?
But then, it includes a lens that is glued on it...a big one...

My first digital, before I rediscovered film - a Sony Mavica FD-98; the one with the floppy disk drive (four 2.1 megapixel images to a floppy disk!). I paid AU$1800.

Some 3300 EUR for the M8 body.
I ordered it and intended to just try it out. When it arrived, I noticed that the serial number consisted of both the date I first met Ania and my mother's birthday - so, how could I send it back?
Cheers,
Uwe

13500PLN (aprox. $4050 then) for a Canon 5D in November 2005. I still use it once/twice a week.
My cheapest camera that wasn't actually given to me was an Olympus Mju-II. I bought it on an auction site for aprox $8. I wrote the seller an email so he could send me an invoice and an account number so I could pay for it. He replied that he was going to be out of town for a week or two, and that he had sent it COD. I didn't really mind, it was a steal at that price anyway. The package came, no COD. I emailed him again with the story, asking for an account number, no reply. Yay, free Mju!

I bought my D700 last year the week it was available. I did not order it from the net but got it from a local camera store. Besides the small Fuji F30, it was the second camera I've bought new. The 4x5" Wista set was not cheap either, but that included two lenses and a full freezer-load of film.

Nothing online... These were "Statistical Visualizations". I loved that work. I did the entire graphics package in assembly language, the device drivers in assembly, and the computer models in FORTRAN. The customer watched an animation of time-varying color codes to show trends in the data. One could instantly recognize were the bottlenecks and problems were occurring.

That is very cool, Brian.
As a statistics person myself, I would be very interested in such a tool.

My Nikon D300, like new, was approximately $1200 (now gone). My leica M6-TTL was a bit under $1000. I not sure whether to buy a D700 now or just hang on until the M9 starts walking.
