Canon S90 Samples Available

That's ISO 3200 - not bad... not bad at all... considering what else is available currently.

This may prove to be a decent P&S cam after all.

I can say, honestly, based on these samples at DPReview at least, that the images out of this camera are, from a noise perspective, as good as the original 5D.

Canon must be offering more pay or a better health/dental plan or something.

I think the high iso shots look damn good for a small sensor camera, but they're no where near the 5D high iso abilities IMO.

On screen - at ISO 1600 - they are approximately the same quality of the 5D (classic) camera at IS01600+

I never shot my 5D @ ISO3200 - never trusted it at that level.

For a P&S, all things being "equal" per se - this camera's IQ looks very similar to the original 5D - I would want to see the RAW files to be sure though.

Some of the samples are really good but I noticed two at ISO 800 and 400 with ugly noise patterns.

Sorry, I don't see it. Not in those pictures, at least.

Noise is comparable to recent P&S (no comparison with 5D 😱 ).

Just another P&S, not that I expect anything else, the manual-ish control is nice, tho.
