Some nice updates, quite a list but my favourites:
- Faster AF
- Option for the camera to remember zoom / focus settings

It always surprises me that the so-called upgrades are often nothing more than adding features or options that should have been included with the camera upon its release.
But I guess that there is such a rush to get the products out the door that it's easier to simply get it done and then try to finish it later.

The zoom and focus is an example of Panasonic listening to their customers/reviewers - it was the top of the list for improvement and its great to see them provide it for free rather than hold it over for the LX4. Its like Solms providing a free finder upgrade

The faster AF is certainly noticeable too. Bravo Panasonic!

Ha!, I just sold mine to get a GF-1. Good upgrade, though. I always wanted the 1:1 frame! GF-1 already has it I believe.

Haven't had a chance to update mine yet. Anybody know if the new "lens resume" feature survives not just power down but also sleep mode?

It does survive sleep mode too.

According to a post on DPReview:
As many people have previously noted, Panasonic temporarily suspended the availability of v 2.0 firmware for the DMC-LX3. Panasonic's Call Center told me that while using the “Custom Mode” some customers may experience one of the following issues:
1. 1:1 aspect ratio may not function as intended.
2. While zooming, zoom magnification indication may be incorrect, and may stop updating.
3. The on screen guidelines may be off center.
4. The time display for the built-in memory may display the wrong time.
A corrected firmware version should be posted on or about October 20, 2009.
For any customers who have already downloaded and installed v 2.0, and who are experiencing any of these problems, they should "RESET" the camera using the "SETUP MENU" option. This will restore normal operation, but any custom setting will be reset to the factory default settings.
This information will be posted to the Panasonic LUMIX Global Site soon very soon. Customers who have posted this firmware on public file sharing servers should stop distributing this firmware immediately.
Most Important: Please do not to revert back to v 1.3 from v 2.0 as it may cause some side effects.

Thank you. There is always something very satisfying about improving a product you have already paid for by nothing more than a free software update.
I'll look forward to Panasonic getting it right.

I did download the update , and with some effort was able to Install it. I did not notice the change in AF speed, but the "Resume" function works. I have not tested out the rest.
