just acquired this. wanted to use it as spares for a wrecked m3 but it'll be such a crime!
wear on the lens:
wear from the film spool:
wear from all the winding:
wear on the vulcanite and top/bottom plates where the right hand would be:
someone told me that i can change the vulcanite.. NO WAY! it's still working fine and it's by far the smoothest m3 i've had.

Maddoc,
Nice night shooter that you have there! Is that the hood from the Summicron 35mm you have on your Summilux? I have tried this hood on my lens but then I couldn't fit a filter. How do you get around this? Do you see more flare control using this hood?
Cheers,
Simon

Simon, thanks !!
That's the hood of a 35/2.0 ASPH mounted on my 35mm Summilux-M pre-ASPH. I glued a rubber o-ring into the hood to hold an E39 UV filter. Cheap and works well, some slight vignetting, though. Flare nearly disappeared using this hood.
The idea is not originally from me, Thomas (thomasw) suggested to try it.
Cheers,
Gabor

flashy indeed !
Actually, I like that combination of silver and red. I still have a cover in red from camerleather for an old-style M3 but no M3 to recover ...
