Ok, this is a dumb question probably, but I am still just beginning with this, so bare with me.
I have got a Bessa R2 and a CV 90/3.5. The CV is a M39 lens, and I got an adapter from the auction site for it. Now, with the adapter mounted on the camera and the lens into the adapter I notice that the lens is some degrees shy of the 12 o'clock position. Is this a problem or is it something that does not have any impact on the functionality of the camera/lens combination ?

Regards,
Stefan

Thanks Ken, then I will start loading this little camera with some film I just got and start taking some pictures :).

Stefan

Let's hope the adapter is good, Stefan. I suggest that you take a test picture on the top of a table. Place a largish object at the closest distance at which the camera/lens can focus, and two smaller objects, one 1" nearer and the other 1" farther. Focus on the main object, of course, and aperture set to f/3.5. You'll need a longish exposure, but a table is a steady support.

Yes, I hope the adapter is a good one, so the thickness of it is not a problem. My CV90 is a relative slow lens, so the DOF can compensate a little for some problems, and I know my R2 is not the best for longish lenses. I will try to shoot a roll and see what it gives me.
Another thing that I noticed is that compared to the rangefinder on my pre-war Roland the rangefinder imposed image is very pale, as is the case with the Zeiss ZM that I tried out in a shop. I mean, the viewfinder is great, big and bright, but focusing is somewhat more difficult than on the 6x4,5 rangefinder.
One funny thing about the Roland : on the lens cap it reads "Kleinbild". This is the current designation of 35mm in german, meaning "little image". How times change ;)
