film advance removal

Looking to replace the film advance on my M6 with an m2/m3 style one. Any advice? is it worth buying a flex clamp? How tight is it on there? Or is there a home remedy for removing the bezel without sacrificing my paint? Thanks!

I tried what people suggested on here, covering ordinary needlenose pliers with tape and getting it off that way. Didn't work. I say get the flexiclamp.

did you end up buying one? from where and how much? do you have to buy a set or can you get just one? will a hardware store have them or are they leica/camera specific tools? thanks for the help!
