Never had one. I would like to hear some discussion of folks who use a 75mm lens, some technical details etc. Which ones, why you use it? Anyone using one more than 50% of the time?

Because I like it (Summicron).

What Dave said. The 75 can be used as a "tight 50" when a tighter view would be more effective. The 90 is, well, a 90; not a "tight 50." The 75mm frameline, being larger in the finder, is also easier to compose with, especially when using the 0.58 finder.
I use the 75 Summilux and the 75 CV.

I use my 75/2.5 Color Heliar far more than any 90. I just like the fov. But then again I use a 40mm as my standard lens and much prefer my 25 over my 28.

I have recently added a 75mm 1.4 Summilux, and I have used it today in my first roll of film with this lens. It will make a great companion with a 35mm 1.4 pre-asph Summilux. I feel that with these two lenses as a minimum set, I would be OK. Extending the "set", I sometimes add a 21mm lens and/or a Sonnar 50mm 1.5 for a certain look when needed. The 75mm 1.4 is not light but it seems to be lighter than the magnificent 105mm 2.5 Nikkor. Is it?

I don't have a 75mm but I have two 100mm lenses. Today I spent a good day burning 2 rolls of film with one of my 100mm lenses and I was thinking to myself that "I should get one of those 75mm lenses".

A great lens (either Summicron or Summilux, depending on light) for pet and small animal photos. The close focus distance is the same as the newer 50s, but I have to be careful with my focus and depth of field. Also, as Raid said, a wonderful walkaround combo with a 35.

I have the CV 75mm Color Heliar, and it works great with the 75mm 1:1 VF on my Bessa-T.
It will be my only "portrait" lens for my Bessa set up, but I use it solely for streetphotography.
It's sharp and the colors are bright and lively. I use this lens 40% of the time with my Bessa.

I have the 75/2.5 Heliar. But I never use it. It still looks new. I should use it or sell it. I can't decide. That's dumb I guess.

Raid, funny enough in my bag there's 21 + 35 + 75.. and I took years to understand that this combo could have been an option...

if i were getting paid for weddings/event photos, i would take the lazy way out and shoot a dslr with flash and zoom and one fast prime lens.

I agonised over the choice between the 75mm Summicron and Summilux and decided on the 'Lux because it seemed to have a bit more character wide open over the Summicron.
The 75 mm length is the perfect partner to a 35mm for me. The Summilux has its draw baacks weighing about the same as a small car and difficult to focus wide open, but when all of the stars align, it's brilliant.

My standard walk around lens is a 35/2. At weekends or on trips, I pair it with its natural partner, a 75/2 (Summicron). The pair have the same widest aperture, I use the same film in both bodies, and everything is ducky. The 75 Summicron is small(ish), fast, 0.7M closest focus, moving elements to make those 0.7M shots sharp, a short focus throw, a hood that pulls out and locks (what a concept!), and even though it's an ASPH lens, renders beautifully. Just an absolutely awesome lens.

I used the 35/75 combo for a few years and liked it a lot. The 75 is a nice portrait lens but you can't get too tight with it. I second the idea that it is a "tight" 50. I've started to use a 90mm recently and like it a bit better. Not sure how much I'll be using the 75 but the CV is a great lens for the money...

I have one on (unintended) long-term loan, we just haven't had coffee in a few months. I took the 75mm CV Heliar with me to Newfoundland, almost never using it, but I love this arresting portrait I got of my father.
I want the lens, but I don't think I can justify buying it with how little use I have gotten out of it. I keep coming back to that picture of my dad, though.

I have the CV 75/2.5, love the results when I think about using it. Trouble is I also love the results from my 50/1.4 so I need to remember to break it out now and again.
