Hello,
today I received a minifinder in black. I am quite confused, as the framelines are a perfect match with 35/50mm instead 28/35! I compared with several cameras and other finders.
I bought it used off eBay - the optics are clear, but i can push the whole block out of the housing. Not that much of a problem, this could be fixed with a drop of glue. But I do not know if there should be a Plastic frame at the rear end or not. In some pictures in the net I can see a black frame around the back of the silver model. Mine is simply metal and will probably scratch my glasses...
Anyone else compared the mini-framelines to other finders?

There should be a black rubber eyepiece, but it is not well-secured (I lost mine a few weeks ago).

Ride, dive, shoot.
I don't have the finder anymore, but I believe there should be a rubber piece there.

I just compared my mini finder with my M4P and 28/35 framelines match pretty closely. The mini finder framelines are a little tighter (similar to Bessa, M6 and ZI), but far from 35/50.
When new, there is a rubber piece, but it fell off on mine, too.
Not sure what you are seeing.

My is loose as well, but a perfect match for 28/35. Push the front optics all the way in.

Well, thanks a lot for your replies! I think the missing rubber can be substituted by some tape or something like that. But he framelines - i have the big silver Leitz finders in 28 and 35mm, some other finders, a turretfinder and some cameras. Most 35mm finders and cameras would indicate even more than the outer frames in the minifinder! Pushing it in or out does not change anything but to give a better visibility. The 28 finders and frames show so much more - it is really strange.
One thought: the seller describes the finder as "refurbished". Is it possible that he might have opened the optics and put the lenses back in a wrong order?

What would there be to refurbish in one of these simple finders?

It's a 5 element finder, so not really simple. But I cann't see how it can be disassembled, since the optics are glued together - so good question.

The order of the optics would be wrong during reassembly, resulting in a magnified frameline?

Actually... this is interesting to know... as I would like a mini finder in 35/50 instead of 28/35... if modification is possible... I may just do that to use with my Bessa T.
