Bubbleish spots on negative

So, on the negative film there are dark dots surrounded by clearer areas ? Is the surface of the film emulsion smooth where the marks are, or pitted ? It could be mechanical/chemical damage to the film roll before it was chopped up in to 35mm strips, but that is a wild guess. I haven't seen anything precisely like that, and so localised, before.
Edit: I suppose the obvious supplementary questions are what sort of film was used, and how was it processed ?

I processed it the same morning, it's HP5 in D76, and I'm pretty sure there was no mechanical damage. The surface is flat, the dots are there, too.
Could it be remains of photoflo?
It's not such a big issue, I developed many more rolls and it was only on this single frame, I'd still like to know in case anyone has seen it before.

I see what you mean, no, there's nothing where the holes are. I meant with photoflo that I accidently had the liquid in the tanks I developed in, and maybe that where it settled there was no developer.. - I have no idea what I'm talking about, just ignore that one.

Did you mix the developer just a moment before developing with it? One idea could be that the non dissolved particles of the D-76 powder mix have stuck on the surface of the emulsion.

It's something that contaminated this area of the film, perhaps you had some reducing agent on your hands while loading it onto developing reels. or ... coffee perhaps? Or a sneeze?
In any event, the damage is permanent, so embrace it. I'd title the picture, "I See Orbs!"
