Great stuff. Looks like quite an interesting place. Colorful (in a B&W sort of way). Love that fourth shot with the reflection and the next-to-last frame with the old fellow squatting.

Thanks kzim.
Yeah, it is an interesting small little town if you know where to look.
As with everywhere else, scenes like this are slowly fading away.......

An interesting grouping of shots...it would be really interesting to see the proof sheet for the "roll", as I think there must be several additional interesting shots. I like the next to last shot of the old guy...his face tells a story of hard life. Also it reflects a interaction of the moment that is tangible. Thanks for sharing.
Great series of pics! Thanks for sharing
Doesn't look much like the "Tasmania, OZ" I remember, though
Indonesia perhaps?

The power of Wiki ha ha
Jon: You are absolutely right considering Tasmania's population is only 500,000 ++.
Miri is only seeing some rapid development over the past few years so it still has that small old town feel for the most part though for how long more, i'm not sure.

I had the good fortune to pass through Miri a few years ago when I was traveling in Sarawak and Sabah, it's a nice town. Hawaii Beach was especially beautiful.

ethics: Can't believe you've been to miri. It is not exactly a very touristy town. Were you on your way to the caves (niah/mulu)?
