I have a Kiev 4 with a Jupiter 13 (35mm) lens. When I look through the viewfinder I assume that the window represents 50mm, correct? What are 35mm shooters doing? Guessing their framing? Using an external finder?
An external finder is what you want. The single 35-mm focal-length USSR-made finders can be found on the old auction site for reasonable prices. There are also multi-focal-length (usually 35-135mm) turret finders made in the USSR. Then there are the Leica Imarect finders, which sell for more than the Kiev 4 + lens . . .
I'm hoping you mis-typed that and it's a Jupiter 12 lens, never heard of a J-13. You need an external finder. There are plenty to choose from, ranging from fixed ones for that lens to the turret finder and brightline finders. Personally, I use the turret finder. You can even make your own from a used single-shot camera if you cannibalise its finder, provided you check the lens was about 35mm!
