Bill,
It was very cold, but the ice blue water looked beautiful, and the white sand made it worthwhile to me.

Went out for some snow pictures with my Bronica ETRSi and Rollei 35S but it was way too hard to spend any time in the 9 degree weather. Cameras held up fine but I couldn't handle the cameras too long.

Raid did you dip your toe in the ocean?
Maybe the water was warmer than the air!

Fergus,
My hands were hurting from the cold, and I did not have to take the "dip test" to find out whether the water was warm or cold. Nearby, water fountains were frozen.

This is a nice photo! Well done!
Thanks. I know that taking the photo towards the east during sunset is a better approach than shooting towards the sunset. In this photo, I focused on the fence and the sea oats and I minimized the sunset on purpose.

When it is very cold, I tend to go for an automated camera for a first few meter readings, and then I keep the same exposue and keep on shooting. MF cameras are too fussy for such cold weather.

I spent the past two days in New Orleans, and I used a Bessa R with a Canon 35mm/1.5 and Ilford XP2 Super on Saturday night while I used a Bessa T with CZJ 5cm 1.5 and Kodak 400UC the following day. Nothing special, but it was New Orleans ! I was trying out the Canon 35mm/1.5 with multiple rolls of film to see if it will be my travel lens this summer.

It's weekend again!
After a period of very cold weather, followed by rain, now we have wonderful weather.
I will take it day by day in decding what to take photos of, but the beaches are my favorite.
What will you be up to?

We're all light!
Raid: Well, for starters, I'll be at the RFF get-together in Manhattan tomorrow afternoon (and spent late last night cooking up some new prints to show once I'm there). Since many of us will have at least one camera in tow, you might call it the Gunslingers' Ball. I'll bring the Hexar kit for show n' tell, but use the Contax Tvs for the actual snaps.
Sunday is supposed to bring some very soggy weather with it, and I've got a bit of IT work to catch up with, so tomorrow's where and when the action is.
Bill P.: I'll personally offer a toast to you tomorrow. Go get 'em!

A friend and are going to be having a campfire tomorrow night so I'm going to be bringing my Retinette for its first shots. I'm hoping to get some good sunset, snow, and fire pictures.

I borrowed a friend's Mamiya 7 to run some test rolls, since I'd really like to buy one of my own fairly soon. But the weather promises to be pretty crappy the whole weekend, so I may or may not get some shooting done. Failing that, I'll try to get some studio shots taken.

Hit the post office to pick up my new (to me) R-D1, and then spend the next two days with my summicron 40mm and canon 50/1.2. Excited for my first dive into RF photography!

No plans this weekend...it's been raining all week and may continue into tomorrow...
If it does clear up and most of the clouds move out I could get a great shot of he local mountains covered with snow...

Sam,
How about trying a partially clouded up mountain view? It may work out to be even nicer looking than the view with a clear sky.
Which local mountains are close by?
