The day for me has finally arrived!

After trading in all my DSLR gear. I'm now the owner of an M7 with the 50mm f2 Summicron. I cannot tell you how excited I am to using this, especially as I still have my GF1 with m-mount adaptor allowing me to use my lenses digitally too.

My introduction to rangefinder photography was via the Bessa R3a and then progressed to the Epson R-D1s so its nice to be shooting film again.

Don't worry about the weather, go shoot with it! Enjoy!

Rainy weather gives great opportunities to take interesting photos. :) Just go out and use your new camera as much as possible, the M7 can withstand some rain drops.

Cheers,

Gabor

Exciting stuff , trading dslr's on leica's , I did the same thing and now my freezer is stocked with about 50 rolls of film. Enjoy that new leica and post your stuff up here.

Don't ever wait for the weather, the perfect light will come when it's inside and too late.

That sounds a nice setup you have got yourself now.

Enjoy! :)

long shadows and high contrast light are nice, but far from the only game in town. embrace the rainy weather and surprise yourself with a different quality of light.

Congrats Paul. I relate to this story as I did a similar thing last year. Have fun. Enjoy the new journey !

I've shot my M7 and 28 Cron Asph in two major snowstorms this year. No problems whatsoever. I just remove the snow from the camera and lens before taking it indoors and had no issues (note, I did use a softie to prevent snow entering through the shutter release). I've had the M7 about a year now and have put ~ 150 rolls through it without a single hiccup. Am about to take a 20 day trip to Cuba along with 60 rolls of Neopan 400 so this camera is getting a terrific workout. The only problem is, I now want another one!

You have a right to be chuffed Paul! Congrats!! :) I wouldn't wait for the rain to stop though or you might never use it... ;)
