can you spot anything interesting here?

Yes, you got it

Yes, you got it

Pretty hard to see, especially in those first 2 images, right? I think that the Noritsu scanners somehow think the date info is a dust artifact, and remove it from some images. Or maybe it is meant to be invisible??

The battery on this roll is a brand new CR2025, 3.2 VDC, the old one measured 2.8 VDC and still showed and kept the date and maybe the dates are on the other rolls, but because of the background grasses, removed by the Costco scanners.

I can't see them on the negatives at all.

The negative has data imprinted on it bottom right that says it was exposed on 24th Jan 2010 ... considering you were on assignment on Alpha Centauri at the time it confirms my suspicion that the cat has indeed mastered the use of the self timer ... and tripod!

ted, this is amazing. your cats have managed to keep two apparently well-educated adults on two rather distant continents happily occupied over an hour now. they should have their own television variety show. I understand that Conan O'Brian's former time slot is suddenly available. Do these guys have an agent?

The cats are fine

The cats are fine

The orange cat goes outside hunting for several hours a day and is not overweight, the black one could probably use the exercise. Here's a photo showing how skinny the orange one is, taken just a day or two before the one of them eating:

can I spot anything interesting here? as much as I do need to see an ophthalmologist soon (see my photos or the signature to my posts if you harbor any doubts about the absence of anything resembling 20/20 here), I think I also need to get my head examined for signs of dementia. it's now two minutes past one a.m. and I'm still playing along with this rather than getting some much-needed sleep. I really do give up.

my vet would tell you that both those cats need less food and more exercise. since I largely ignore that same advice from my own doctor, I can't blame your cats for being non-compliant.

You should be able to see the imprinting of the date, if not, you might have lost color vision - so have that checked out.

The funniest things the cats do have yet to be photographed, one can open locked doors, and scrobble up vertical walls, probably best to try to capture on video.

Keith - you are the winner of this round!

Keith - you are the winner of this round!

I am going to sleep for the night, but I will see what I can come up with tomorrow.

Now I know why K/M went out of business, their all-important date functions are too small and weak, and likely get completely lost in the scanning process!!

Ahem ... next challenge please quizzmaster! :D

Keith, congratulations. you win. Ted will be supplying a very expensive prize for your efforts. But I won't go home empty handed, as he'll be giving me the home version of this game.

I couldn't actually see the date in the first two images, but I do spot in the third one. myopia, astigmatism and I'm also one the lucky 8% of the male population that have a healthy dose of color blindness.

Well, everyone will go home a winner for playing!! 90% off any prints, for all who played. Use the secret winning code "IWON" during checkout to apply the discount!!

aha, ted, the orange fellow looks much leaner from that angle. apologize to him for any hurt feelings I might have caused in sniping about his weight.

I am color blind, confirmed repeatedly by pros. didn't lose anything... been that way forever. this might explain my fondness for working in B&W.

it's probably not a good idea to take everything that I post seriously.;) the problem is knowing what to trust as tongue-in-cheek.

Hi Rob

Hi Rob

No problem, the cat does not worry what folks on these forums say about him.

I'd guess that a good proportion of folks who prefer b/w are probably color blind, and that's fine.

Surprised they aren't all traffic cops ;)
