I need to know what CV (in M mount) are safe to use an M5.
I am wanting to get the CV 21mm/4-P and the 28mm/2.
Are these safe to use without damage to meter arm?
Is there a list somewhere that has the list of lenses that can be used.. M and LTM?

Thanks in advance
Peter

CameraQuest should know. They sell CV lenses and write about Leicas.

A screw mount lens can be used on an M body with a simple adapter ring.

Yeah Cameraquest is the best place for the answers to your questions. It should not be a problem fixing on the lens. You might need an external VF thou.

I think all CV lens are safe on M5. I have used a LTM 21/F4 with an adapter on my M5, not problem.

I thought so... The older Leica 21 Elmarit had a large rear element group, similar to the FSU 35mm. But all the newer lenses seem to be of a modern design where the rear group is within the mount.

The 28 /2 should be fine.
