Leica LTM My IIf's back "pops"

Just curious what this might be. I have a IIF that I am about to put up for sale (my M4-2 gets all the love since I got it), and since I got it the back's had one weird thing going on: when you push on it and let go you hear a little 'pop' and there's some flex. The camera works great in every way, doesn't leak light anymore than any other screwmount Leica I've owned (that is to say, very rarely).

Any idea what might be causing it?
 
I have a IIIf, and it also pops a little bit when you push on the back . I find it a little quirky, but not too objectionable. I've never been able to figure out exactly why it does that.
 
Patient: Doctor, it hurts everywhere. When I press here it hurts, when I press there it hurts. What could it be?
Doctor: A broken finger.
 
I can feel tiny bit of flex and tiny sound if I press the back of my IIIf with force, but it much much more subtle than say, pushing my M2's back that's more like pop (also common, I believe).

Frank, a classic. I think even Dr. House pulled that one off once.
 
No Leica I've ever owned has ever done that....sounds like something is very amiss with the camera shell, broken/cracked, not good 🙁

All my IIIC/IIIC K bodies are firm, no flexing....

I had a IIIa with a back that flexed and made a little pop. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the camera. Worked great, and was in excellent condition. There are probably some slight variances in tolerances. However, the IIIa used a different type of construction. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. If the shell was cracked, I'd have to imagine the vulcanite would show some severe signs of damage.
 
My IIIf does the same. I wouldn't call it a "pop" though. It's barely audible. You must have excellent hearing 😉

My guess, it comes from the springs rubbing against the pressure plate and the back.

Nothing to worry about IMO.
 
My IIIa has a covering that isn't Vulcanite, and it pops because it's not securely attached to the aluminum body sleeve anymore on the back. If there's a seam under the lens, you may well have the same type of body covering.
 
There is nothing wrong with your camera. My IIIf and IIIg are both in mint condition and both "pop" a little when you press on the back. I think its the vulcanite not 100% flat on the camera shell.
I have a IIIc with the vulcanite removed, that doesn't pop at all.
