Let's have some time off the regular discussions and have something else to talk about. So, let's talk about music. Music to me is a healing touch after the day's hard work and helps me rejuvenate myself for the next day.

Do you play any instruments? It would be interesting to know about the different instruments that the people here enjoy playing.

I love playing guitar and the keyboard, but I enjoy playing guitar more than the latter one.

Wasn't it Peter Cook who said ... "I am indeed a self confessed player of the pink oboe?"

:D

I have played guitar most of my adult life................................well....wait a minute......adult may be stretching it some but I have been playing for over 50 years.I have several guitars but,as with all things dear to me,I don't have,or at least, don't set aside the time that I would like to spend practicing and playing and as a consequence my level of expertise has declined significantly and I am discouraged from playing because I cannot bear to hear myself play.Ron G

It's a long time since I've had a play but the trombone was my intrument. Preferred the bass to the tenor so I could fiddle with all the extra transposing valves. :) I'd like to start again but I think the neighbours might complain.

I think music and photography are the things that describes my life pretty well.
Just as I'm interested in different types of camera gear, I'm also interested in different instruments.

I started out with bass guitar but also play Estonian bagpipes, kannel (Estonian stringed folk instrument) and a little bit of jew's harp as well. I'd like to get into fiddle playing but it will have to wait for a while. :)

I've been playing guitar off and on since I was about 14 (18 years). You may think that would make me quite good but I'm not!
Strangely though, in the last two bands I've played in I've ended up playing keyboards/sampler/drum machine.
I also really enjoy playing drums. I treated myself to an ex-demo Roland V-Drum kit a while ago and love bashing away at it. Again, I'm not very good at all but it's enjoyable.

Music is another area where it's easy to get really hung up on gear as a displacement activity (if that's the right term). Whenever I start thinking I need more music gear I listen to some Seasick Steve :) (Having said that I've just resprayed a strat and am shopping for pickups...)

Go for it Ronnie.

I have been playing trombone again, I played in school, for the past 5 years or so. My son took it up this year and we play together a few hours each week. He is advancing very well for a first year player, and I am having fun playing regularly.
