If you get the chance, it's worth attending. People are friendly and there are always great picture opportunities. The key to success is to always ask permission of the 'artist' or individual and to not use flash. Participants do tend to view smaller cameras (i.e. rangefinders/point'n shoots) as less threatening. That may be my own perception, but it is based on several years experience at these shows. I have seen some altercations arise when some yahoo shoulders his way in and begins to blast away using flash without asking permission. Artists do not appreciate those type of surprises, nor the lack of respect they imply.
