Hi,

I got my Amedeo adapter recently. I shot some rolls with my M4-2 with my also newly acquired Millenium Nikkor! Wow, it is simply amazing. I'll take some camera porn shots later... Here are some pictures:

Good to see another satisfied user of the Millennium 50/1.4 and Amedeo adapter combo. Keep the pics coming :)

Millennium Nikkor + Amedeo combination seems to work pretty well. The pictures which you have recently posted looks good. The clarity of pictures is just awesome man.I loved the picture of a plant with its spreading roots.

Looks wonderful! What's the going rate for the Millennium Nikkors nowadays, by the way? I've been considering a pre asph Summilux (E46/0.7 m focus) but this could also be an alternative.

I paid $900 for mine, lens + adapter, last year in December (bought here at RFF). The lens is great, I used to have a pre-ASPH Summilux (E46, 0.7m, latest version) before and prefer the Millennium with Amedeo-adapter any time.

Thanks very much Gabor! The price looks also quite tempting compared to the pre asph Summilux. Could you elaborate why you prefer the Millennium Nikkor? Is it the image quality, ergonomics, bang per buck or something else ... ?

Julien,

Beautiful shots all! I have the Nikkor but haven't sprung for the adapter. I may have to reconsider!! What's the price of the adapter alone?

Thanks!

Thanks for your comments! Sahe, the lens and adapter are gorgeous, but the ergonomics are not that great. The aperture rings rotates when you focus and this can be somewhat confusing. It's easy to change the aperture without noticing it (when trying to focus). I would get it for the bang per buck. The IQ is amazing. I paid mine 750$, then I got the adapter from Amedeo (250$).

Thanks for posting, Julien, nice pictures.

Interesting that there is some pin-cushion distortion in the first, and barrel distortion in the second pic. Any PS corrections applied ?

Regarding comparison with the pre-asph Summilux, my take is that the Nikkor easily outperforms the Summilux at close focus, but at infinity, the Summilux has a bit more center resolution. Also, the Nikkor doesn't have the crazy bokeh that the Summilux sometimes gives.

Roland.

Roland, there are no correction in the first picture. Actually the lens exhibits some pin-cushion distortion. I used some perspective correction in the second pic.

Sahe, as I mentioned I had the pre-ASPH Summilux before but was never that impressed with the lens. After seeing a test between the 50/1.4 ASPH Summilux and the Millennium Nikkor-S and also some photos "zenshoter" took with the Millennium, I had to give it a try.

As already mentioned, the handling of the Millennium needs some practice to get used to it.

I received my Amedeo Nikon-S to M adapter today. My 1.4 Millennium fits nicely on the adapter but my external mount Nikon S lenses are so tight that I'm afraid to fully mount them...any experience with this condition?

Thanks.

Thanks.
