well ... "new" it isn't, but it sure looks and feels as new, and everything works perfectly. Evilbay is not always that evil :). I'll give it a try soon, but it looks and feels sooooo good and sturdy ! It's really a piece of serious metal in your hands and feels like a camera, not a toy. Even the original "ever"ready case was included, and also in very nice shape. WITH bulb flash (not opened completely, since I'm overcareful)

A few quick ones that don't do it justice:

I rarely am envious of new arrivals....but that one looks very nice!:)

It does ... I have plenty of camera's (Canonet 1.7 (3), Olympus RD, Yashica GSX black, and some) but this is by far the most impressive and nicest I have seen, and I think that because it's so massive, it will be much easier to hold still than those other "little" ones (althought I love the Canonet and others).

Really a low-light camera.

The shutter release on the Lynx 14 is really nice. It is all-manual, so no trap-needle mechanism for series of switches to go through. Nothing but release the shutter.

The shutter release on the Lynx 14 is really nice.

Agreed, fully. Lately I realized there's minor difference feeling how releases 5000 and 14, probably because of larger shutter of 14. Both are excellent, as you describe, but I still feel very faint nuance. GSN and KAS2 in this respect bite dust, I think.

Another camera with wonderful release is Petri 7s, though RF patch leaves me dreaming about "bigger and better".

P.S. Lynx 14 already back then had built OIS, well before Panasonic made it available for masses. Large, heavy body with short and smooth release allow to handhold exposures when RF's with AE modes aren't steady anymore.

Always thought I would like to have one of those, but have never gottne around to it. I have too many cameras now, but would like an RF with lower light capabilities. You will like it with flash. That style of flash, sold under a variety of names, worked very well. If you haven't use bulb, it gives a different type of light.

hey, that's a really seldom camera nowadays and in such a good condition,
congratulation!
never ever sell it!

I had a change to look further into it now, and I'm still surprised how clean it is .. The covering is impeccable, and finding anything that resembles a very slight rubbing mark is a difficult exercise in turning it in all directions under good lighting. I don't find any scratches anywhere.

Just tried the meter: it works ! I have some convertors for PX675 to PX625 and a stash of PX675 mercury cells.
At first, it only worked sporadically, until I discovered I had to push the button on the front to meter  ! I probably touched it by accident from time to time, causing the meter to react.

I'll load a colorfilm now to see what the pictures will be like, but I'm very confident it'll be ok.

Stefan.

You mean yours does not have the instruction label!
The Lynx 14e is not so so subtle.

No, you apparently have the IC version (hence the 14e); for what I've read, that's the one that was labeled. If I understood correctly, the button/switch on the front should be labeled also (mine is not).

Stefan.

BTW, Brian, what is the circular object on the back, next to the "instructions" ? Mine does not have that.

On the flash shoe, it says "E.P." in a diamond. Didn't that mean it comes from the military somewhere ? One of my Canon IVSB's also has that sign, but in red. On the Lynx, it's nearly colorless.

The round object is the battery compartment door. They moved it up there on the 14e. Takes two PX-640's.

Enjoy your Lynx!!
