Just shoot with it and enjoy the best compact rf ever
On serious note, if you don't have a battery then look for air-sinc batteries for it (PX625). Metering in my camera is spot on so automatic aperature is usable if you like that sort of things. I use mine on manual, always, out of a habbit I guess. Besides I mostly don't have a battery installed but use sunny-16 or handheld meter in difficult situations.
Just load it (and enjoy the easy loading that no other maker in my experience can touch) and shoot with it.

I don´t have a battery in mine, too.
The shutter speed dial on the top is the most lovely feature of the RC; in combination with the easy to use aperture ring it says: "Use me in manual mode!"
A problem (maybe only in my camera) is the transport lever. I have to move the lever very carefully to the end position to make sure that the release button is not blocked.
Enjoy your RC, it´s one of the cutest rangefinders with a stunning lens!

I love that shot! My lever works as one would expect, perfectly, or I haven't simply noticed
35RC is a lovely piece and the design is one of the best out there, compact and fits on your hand nicely. I'll post some shots when I get back home (nothing with me on my laptop).

Thanks Santtu and Petronius...
Thanks Santtu and Petronius...
...for your enthusiastic responses. It sounds like the RC is one very cool camera! Mine should arrive in a few days.
Do you think it's almost equal to the SP in terms of image quality...whatever that is!? I am toying with the idea of getting an SP as well. Do you think that's really necessary, or will there really be any appreciable diference between their pictures?
Thanks so much for your experienced replies.

Been playing around with my new RC and can't believe how cool Flashmatic is!! With a half press of the shutter release one can see just how the aperture changes with the focusing distance and the guide Number.
I am using my Olympus flash FL-36R from my E-510 digital setup. It is quite compact and has an adjustable output, i.e. guide number from 10 to 118. So it is perfect for fill flash in daylight.
Hope this might be helpful.

Angus

I just picked one up a few weeks ago as part of my big bulk rangefinder buy, replaced light seals, etc. I've only shot a test roll with it but am optimistic about the camera over all.

I'm baffled that all cameras don't have flashmatic. It's better than TTL!
