I really don't know much about Nikkor RF lenses. But on a whim, I picked up a cheap 50/2 Nikkor-H in ltm. Serial no. is in the 751xxx range.
Chrome, but with a black band around the top of the barrel (where the aperture markings are.)
Has some cleaning marks on the front element, but seems to be in good shape otherwise.
Grabbed a quick shot with it today - though I plan to do some portrait work with it this weekend.

Congrats, its a nice lens. I prefer it to the faster and more famous Nikkor-S 5cm f/1.4 :)

Your lens is a fairly late sample (1958 or so?), I'm guessing without the red "C" for coated. The 5cm f/2 serial numbers went up to 769xxx, and the red "C" was dropped around 748xxx (I think).

How this lens performs and what is a good price fot it. Found one from the ebay, is this a good deal: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NIKKOR-NIKON-...ViewItem&pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item439f8586e8
I have been looking for a lens for my "new" M2 and this goes well to my budget. Should I take it or continue my search?

Great lens. I have both the 50/2 and the 50/1.4, and I like the results from the 50/2 better. (Though there's so much sample variation with old lenses like this, that I just may have a poorly shimmed 50/1.4.)

That price is good for a clean copy - if it needs an overhaul (focus adjustment/relube, cleaning oil off diaphragm blades, cleaning haze off internal elements) it'll end up being pricey for this lens.

Good luck!

Mine was right around $150, but it is missing the infinity lock button (a plus, as far as I am concerned), and does have some minor scratching/cleaning marks on the front element.

Roland, is it tough to modify this thing down to .7 focusing?
