Hello,
I'm looking for relatively small printer that will do 8x10 inch black and white prints from scanned negatives with decent quality.
I have an older HP photosmart, but the output in black and white is really bad.
Thank you for any input that you may have.

I can second this- just installed the inkset for my 1400 and it's amazing

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask about the MIS inkset. So, when I buy it and install it, I'm only able to print black and white, right?
If I wanted to print color, will I need to pull out the MIS inks and put in the original Epson ones that came with the printer?
I'm personally only going to do the B&W, but I have a feeling my lady will want to print her color work
On their site do you get the bulk or the cartridges?

If she were my missus, I'd tell her to get her own printer for colour
I don't want to think of how much of a hassle it would be to switch cartridges around. What a mess!
As for the bulk or cartridge option, my ink is fed from bottles (bulk) using a Continuous feed. If you can swing the $$$, this method (obviously) gets my vote- I can only imagine how many prints I will get before needing a refill!
