Hi there

Just found a great way to protect my glasses. It really easy and really cheap. Best of all it does not require epoxy or any adhesive.

Just click on the little "landscape" (the Insert Image button) and paste the URL of the picture in the box. Voilà!

It seems to me that your ever-ready case was made with a removable front flap. Is this correct, or did you change the button for the front flap yourself?
I have only been able to find the old Leica M ever-ready cases with a front flap that is permanently fixed to the case, either with stitches or with a button that cannot be opened, only turned so that the front flap can hang down when shooting vertically.

Plastic ring that you put around the circular part of a key to help you identify different keys? But how do you get it to stay on? Is the half case holding it on?

Soft Rubber Key Identifier

Soft Rubber Key Identifier

Its a soft rubber key identifier that I bought at the local key maker. It so happens that I am able to fit the rubber thingy over the M3 rangefinder ring that protrudes.

cost: less than USD0.20.

Let me know if y'all need a close up pix

Cheers

Zerobutton>> Its an old case with a fixed cover. However it was connected to the case with 2 cm of crumbling leather. You see the hinge has given up the ghost after decades of stress, so I got my tailor to cut it off.

Would like a nice case, any suggestions?

Amazing ! Wonder if that will work on other M bodies...

Nice. Thanks for posting this. Even if the ring doesn't protrude, a bit of contact cement would hold it on, and it's easy enough to get off later if you wish.

OK. I see.

Regarding suggestions for a new case:
I have been looking into Leicatime´s and Kameraleder´s cases. I would like a case with a screw for the tripod mount thread, that it is possible to turn with my fingers. Mr. Crescenzi of Leicatime has a version with a screw, but it is turned by means of a coin or similar tool. Kameraleder makes a case that is very similar to the original Leica M ever-ready cases - also in a half-case version without the front flap.
If you can live without the screw, it seems most users here vote for the Leicatime case - also called the Luigi case:
