http://martinmintal.smugmug.com/Ebay/Summaron-35mm/
http://martinmintal.smugmug.com/Ebay/Ikoflex/
Total price: ca. 200 EUR (= approx. 300 US $)
The camera is fully functional, all moving parts move easily, all speeds run properly, when I move the left handle, frames in the viewfinder change, the viewfinder is clean (bright ?) and the "cloth" (what is the correct english expression ?) is dirty but intact.
Heavy signs of use: mainly around the flash shoe, shutter, back door etc. I still think, the camera looks beautiful - I am not a collector so at least, I won´t have to worry and look for new tiny little scratches. And: it still looks MUCH better than Gary´s Leica.
It is astonishing that after so many years of heavy use everything works as it should - the only negative is the external look but otherwise, this camera can be used immediately. A CLA would be nice though.
The lens looks horrible and it has scratches on the front element too.....don´t know if they will affect the picture quality.
The Ikonta is mint
, it only has some green stuff here and there, which can be cleaned quite easily.
And now get this: it was my birthday when I won the auction
. Everything was sold as broken/not functional ("shutter fires, don´t know if the cameras work").
I really did not have much luck lately (had to quit my job because my field of study will close next semester, so I have to finish my university rather quickly etc. etc..... so I had to sell ALL of my cameras) but this was my lucky day .
And I also got a crappy old Bauer C2M 8mm camera, crappy old Franka Solida I with a non-opening lens and some crappy filters
. Everything in a crappy old box full of crappy old dust
.
Btw.: you will probably think I am crazy, but I actually like how the camera looks (really !). Hard to explain - it has its own character, all experienced lady, wonder what she has already seen... ;-)
P.S.: Sorry for my English, my German is MUCH better
.

Will I keep the camera ? Not sure about that
I still like TLR better - please don´t kill me
The fat (really like 130kg) but really nice, friendly German guy who sold me all this stuff said, it was his fathers camera - he used it daily.
So sad, I would not ever sell my fathers camera :-( (if he had one

Huh? What's your point/message to us here?

Good catch! You can tell from the shutter release button wear that this camera has taken MANY photos in its day. You should hang onto it!

Agreed, is there something I'm missing here? I read everything and its, "OK... then what?"
Mudman
Well-known
he posted a thread the other day about snagging the camera off of ebay. Think he's just posting an update that the camera has arrived in working order.
A steal... jealous!
