Best service for Exakta SLR ?

I have two beloved ( sorry! ) Exakta VX SLRs that both need service.

One needs CLA, the other CLA plus shutter curtains.

Would prefer to find someone in the US, but want to send them to "the best", or at least one of "the top three" ?


If anyone has had a bad experience with Exakta service, and wants to PM me with a warning, that is appreciated too.


To the Forms Mods - sorry if this is the wrong department for this - was hoping for maximum exposure ( no pun intended...)

Frank Marshman / Camera Wiz in Harrisonburg, VA. He's CLA'd many an Exakta for me, so he'd be my choice.

Curtains would be the only challenge, so you might want to track down another Exakta body that has good curtains, and send it along as a 'donor'. I don't know that Frank has a repository of curtain material.

I've heard that Frank Marshman is excellent, and I've also heard good things about Eddie Smolov of Brooklyn.

I had Radu Lesaru service my Exakta Varex VX about a year ago completely including new curtains. He did a wonderful service and he was reasonable. He is at 3R Camera Service in Flushing, NY.
