Hi gang!

Myself and a few others from this and the Purelight Forum are planning to get together in Manchester on the 17th July for this...

"On 17 July, Manchester city centre will be taken over by a range of performances as part of the city’s biennial micro-festival Hazard MMX.
Performances include a woman crushed by a knitted boulder, synchronized swimming in Piccadilly Gardens, 100 ‘Dorothys’ marching in unison and Scratch ’n’ Sniff cinema."

More info here.

We generally meet at the Cafe upstairs in Piccadilly Station at about 10am.

The more the merrier!

Bob.

Well, I'm up for this Bob. No doubt we'll see some of the regulars attending but hopefully some new faces will appear. Our days out in the past have been very easy going and enjoyable, plenty shooting, coffee stops and photo chats. The festival looks like it could give us some interestiing and fun pix. So come on guys, get your names down.

So far I think we have folks from here, Purelight and the Leica Users Forum.

It will be like a rangefinder version of the UN. ;)

Surey nobody can resiste the allure of " a woman being crushed by a knitted boulder"!

I can resist anything, but I may choose not to do so ..

What's this coffee of which you speak? do they not do beer in this Lancaster place ...

Ha ha! I'm sure our path will lead to Mr Thomas' Chop House or some other such licensed premises Stewart. I know I can rely on you to lead astray all who are willing. ;)

Hi Folks,

I haven't been around the RF world for a little while (been meddling on the Dark Side), but this sounds good - count me in.

12 days will be a bit tight, but it should be just about enough time for me to decide what gear and film to bring.

Cheers,

You guys up North seem to get together far more often than anyone down here. Has Noel moved up there? I always thought he was London based, though this is based solely on meeting him on a London meet once...I know I know, typical Southerner expecting everything to be London-centric:rolleyes:

I have to travel up to Northumberland for the scattering of my grandfather's ashes sometime around then, the date hasn't been confirmed due to getting various family members together. As such I'd have my gear with me anyway and would love to come along if the chance is available.

I'll post a yea or nay once I know whats happening with the ashes.

Cheers

Be nice to see you Simon.
Noel is multibased and gets up to Manchester frequently. We seem to have been lens testing in Manchester on an almost monthy basis recently.
We`re not a city state just yet :)

It will be nice to see you too Alan.
It`s been a while.

Peter

Take Saturday off...you know it makes sense .

Great to have you along Alan. If we can get Peter, John and Vincent along too it will be like a reunion of the original RFF meet all those years ago.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed guys!

Makes me think of the old comedy 'Passport to Pimlico,' food for thought, my relatives tell me of the 'Geordie Nation,' which makes me wonder if it is infact possible;)

It'd be good to expand my knowledge and friendship among fellow Brit RFF'ers, I've met more European RFF members than Brits and its always great to get together.

Count me in.
Cameras, beer, coffee and good company: there are worst ways to spend a day.
Looking forward to it.
Vincent

I'm going to mither for a lieu day - I'm owed a few, and Saturdays are the only day I can realistically take one.

Fingers crossed, I'll have a new (to me) camera and lenses to test.

I'm looking forward to this meet. I think it could be the best yet.

Apparently, on top of the other strangeness, in Piccadilly Gardens at 5pm will be 10 minute umbrella flashmob performance 'The Smell of Rain Reminds Me of You'. Featuring 100 people.

For those not in the pub by then. ;)
