All the K64 from the UK is sent to the US via Switzerland.
I sent a roll off on the 14th June and received it back on the 29th.
Sent another off on the 3rd July.
Only one roll left now.

Dwaynes won't take the mailers, just send it in.

The best camera is one that still works!
Anyone want to have a guess as to how many rolls of Kodachrome will remain unprocessed world wide when Dwaynes finally drops the hammer?

I have 2 rolls, 1 of 64 and 1 of 200. The 200 has an expire date of 12/88 and the 64 of 10/87. I have no idea where I got them from and I don't believe they where ever in the freezer. So the question is do I save them because they are in unopened boxes or do I shoot them for one last hoorah? if they are even still good???

My active Kodachrome experience remains at zero but the conventional wisdom is that it stays fine long after the expiration date. The dyes are not in the film itself, but in the developing baths. Hence it practically ages like a B&W film.
I think it'll be a long time before unopened boxes become collectibles. I'd shoot it in a heartbeat.
My childhood memories are on Kodachrome. My Dad must have shot miles of it in Super-8. I'm still considering a few rolls off ebay by December.

Sixty-nine. I would have said 33 but I think Dwaynes will pull a "fast one" and stop processing early.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Dwaynes extend the closing off time by a couple of months ...?
Human nature being what it is a lot of people are going to be looking at their prized Kodachrome stash in late December thinking ... "Damn, I knew there was something I had to do!"
I deliberately didn't get any because of this tendency!

Maybe. That is just as likely as stopping early. I suppose it depends on how access to chemistry is and what the market demand is.

I have a few rolls left. I plan to capture some of the autumn colors in Upstate NY.
That's not real original I know, but it's an appropriate farewell to an old friend IMO.

I don't think Dwaynes will extend the time. I suppose the chemicals are no longer being made. Dan Bayer who post here & started the kodachrome project said he will be at Dwayne's when the last roll goes through the machine in Dec. I have one roll of K64. I'm still debating on which camera to shoot it in & when to shoot it!

Now that people who stashed too much realized how little time they have, it's beginning to tickle back to the market. There is considerable surge of K25 now (last summer/opportunity for this film). So I hope the 200 will follow in the autumn, then I'll stock up for the last time.
Now down to 12 rolls of 64, 1 of 25 and 2x 200. I hope to shoot the slow stuff on a small project within next two weeks, then start collecting 200 for the fall.
Also a reminder to European users: European Kodachrome stock with pre-paid processing is honored through November 30. After that you have to pay Dwayne's to take it.
