UK Region Manchester Outing Sat 17th July

I've pestered the boss - but it's not looking good :bang: - the perils of working in retail.

I'll increase the mithering...

In that case Peter, start coughing and sneezing and mention that you think you're coming down with something at every opportunity. ;)

No need Bob, got that day off (as long as neither of my colleagues start sneezing, coughing etc...

Now to flog stuff on fleabay and get my "new" camera :)

I'm looking forward to this meet. I think it could be the best yet.

Apparently, on top of the other strangeness, in Piccadilly Gardens at 5pm will be 10 minute umbrella flashmob performance 'The Smell of Rain Reminds Me of You'. Featuring 100 people.

For those not in the pub by then. ;)

One of the big disadvantages with film, unlike you digi-chaps, when the light's gone we can't just turn up the asa, or whatever it is these days, and carry on shooting ... we, sadly, have little choice but to retire to some hostelry and reflect on our equipment's shortcomings

I knew I should have said yes when the nice man from the dealer rang with the offer of an M9 yesterday. I put it off util I can raise the funds.

I'll see if I can get over for a couple of hours.

Also, well worth visiting Manchester Art gallery to see the Dorothy Bohm exhibition whilst you're there. I went the other week and it was really excellent.

" All on a muddy pitch in Newcastle where it rains so much
can't wait for a touch..of sun and sand
In the valley of the shadowless death
They pray for thunderclouds and rain................."

I'm in Manchester on a stag day/night on the 17th and Mr Thomas's Chop House is definitely on the list of places to eat!

Unfortunately the Stag runs a door-firm so we will mostly look like smartly dressed thugs and I can't imagine us getting in anywhere after 8, though a friendlier group you could not hope to meet!

Have a great day guys! p.s. (where might be a good place for used Leica glass, or MP?)

Real Camera on Dale Street off Picadilly Gardens.

Here We Go...

Here We Go...

Everybody sorted for tomorrow?
Decided what gear you're bringing, got film, packed your wellies?

I'm probably going to bring just the M8 & a couple of lenses.
(An M8 and no backup camera  !!?? I hear you say. )

The forecast is for light rain showers, so I'm optimistic we'll stay largely dry if we employ strategically timed brew/pub breaks.

I'm looking forward to it.:)

Looks like I'll be there tomorrow as well. Will take beloved Contax G2 along with some Legacy film to try on and wind/water proof jacket.

I'm afraid I won't be able to join in as I've been asked to cover a job in Southampton. Hopefully there'll be another opportunity where I can come and meet some more RFF'ers.

have a great time

Good to have you along Mauros.

Shame you can't make it Simon, Hopefully next time or perhaps I'll dig out my passport and come down to that fancy London. :)
