Does anyone know where to get this GF1 grip? Is it widely available or somebody's diy project?

Thanks

Also interested in a grip for the GF1, I contacted Richard Franiec who said that this isn't his, he does't make a grip for the GF1.

Any other tips?

Wow fantastic but, can anyone tell me how to get a translation of the page?!

In case you are still searching. Also available from Fujiya Camera in Nakano, Tokyo.

Hmm. I've tried contacting the retailers mentioned, but because I don't speak Japanese (perhaps) I haven't received any response yet.

There wouldn't be a fellow RFF'er there in Toyko who could pick up a couple of these and mail them to the US for a reasonable commission, is there?

Well, I live in Tokyo and I go to Fujiya just about once a week! I love their prices. Picked up a Hexar AF for half the price on ebay.

Anyway, suppose one did pick up one of these on your behalf, how would you reimburse your fellow RFF'er?

Another RFF member did this with Yama hoods. Took orders from established members, received money in advance and shipped ou the hoods as soon as he received them.

I suppose you could figure shipping and packaging cost as well as the cost of the grip, and then see who wants one of these grips. Take payment in advance and ship after you purchase.

Beyond paying for the grip and regular EMS airmail, I would be happy to offer to pay a 'service fee'. ;) Whatever you think is fair for your time and trouble.

I'm confirming with the other fellow interested, but you can definitely count me in for one.

If you can confirm you'd be willing to help, maybe I'll open a new thread to see if there are any other takers, give it a week, and then go in?

And, by the way, thank you in advance. :)

Well, suppose I did offer to help you out here, I wouldn't charge you a 'service fee', only the cost of the item plus the EMS. It would just be part of my usual field trips to Fujiya before heading out to Shinjuku's www.mapcamera.com and Kitamura, so it's no big deal.

And suppose I wanted to help, I would only be doing this once for one or two blokes, not for a whole bunch of people because I wouldn't want to be suddenly inundated for requests for things that are not available outside of Japan.

Many thanks. I'll send ya a PM. :)

Grip received. And it's great.

Just received the grip that fellow RFF'er RFluhver was kind enough to pick and mail to me. Much appreciated.

I took a few quite pics tonight (which are dark, because it was late), if interested.

The grip is quite nice. Heavy enough, but not too heavy. It fits the GF1 really well. The base is metal, well made, and the grip portion seems to be a composite with a grip covering. A little pricey, but just worth it. :)

Again, a bit thank you to RFluhver. Thank you sir. :D

Reviving an old thread. I just emailed Discover Photo and they emailed right back. $118 USD including shipping to USA. I may order one to tide me over until a GH3 is released.

I received my grip less than a week after I paid for it. They shipped it from my home state. There was good email communication. It is a little rough around the edges so I filed some corners down to make it more comfortable in my hands.
