Congrats, Helen.

Same happened for me. Once I had the Lux, I didn't feel I needed a super fast 50 anymore.

Have fun,

Roland.

Hello Helen,
Congratulations on the "Near Virgin" Lux. Enjoy her now.
I have to thank Roland for sending me on the route to Lux Heaven.
I saw him reducing his lens collection and then buy a Lux. I started to think .... and sometimes I actually think!

Congrats Helen! I had the same experience when my lux arrived - not a sign of use. The focusing ring has only just loosened up now that she's seeing some use after these years..

Here's a portrait taken on the 88 bus in Boston this past Wednesday evening. I believe this was closer than a meter - youre going to love the close focus distance Helen, especially after your experience with the 1 meter min of that beautiful black 50 lux you gave up recently!

Congratulations Helen! Can't wait to see your photos with this lens. I think you'll be OK with the .58, but you might want to get a 1.25 eyepiece adapter. I have a .72 (and .68) VF and the 1.25 is overkill with it, but 1.25 was useful (but not necessary) with this lens and the RD1.

No Noctilux needed here since I have a 75 Lux, but I own three 50's for their differant looks: a 50 Rigid Cron, a 50/3.5 Nickel Heliar, and a 50/2.0 Nickel Heliar. No need for any fast fifty otherwise.

Helen congrates. My German "Version 3" is kinda minty BTW also.
