Arrgggh, M8 display is "missing a segment", on the higher numbers. It looks like one of the LED segments doesn't like to light up, so for instance, for 3000, the top vertical line of the "3" doesn't light.
Not fond of Leica electronics at all..... :-(

Sorry to hear about the trouble. FWIW, 3 minus vertical line "三" is "three" in Japanese.
