RFF Leica Serial numbers

I'm pretty sure the engraving is "No. 58734".

Aha! Thanks for clearing this. I didn't think, that it might be "№". Thought I know more about M Leicas, not LTM ones...

My last, or family name is Pénzes, the first name is István. You asked for the Nickname, which is in my case Penzes.

If you want to be absolutely correct, István Pénzes would be the right usage of my name in this context.

So, Istvan, everything is clear now :D
It's kind of surprise when you understand that your family name, which in your language is one thing, or none, could have absolutely other meaning in another language...

M2 #961403, Taylan, Turkey

Oh, I just started to think when those M2 guys will show up... :)

Leica M7 - 2781381 Karlo, Croatia (btw camera is either broken or needs batteries so i might not hold on to it if its broken.)

I hope it's batteries that needs to be changed. One of the points why I did buy MP...

Yeah, well i got it LNiB for less than 1800$ in the end... With varranty and passport etc etc so if the batteries are the cause i'm as happy as can be :)

Nice deal, you've got there!..;)

Anybody else wants to participate in the RFF Serial Numbers list?..
Oh, cammon guys!.. I know, there's a lot of you, with a lot of cameras, sitting, waiting to be on the list... :)

I also think this is cool to be able to see where these cameras are now. My two were built in Germany, made their way to America, where I purchased them from a shop, and they now reside back in Germany.

Also, looks like Pico has the only two consecutive serial numbers so far.

This is a really cool thread.

The meaning is the same in Hungarian to, Pénzes = rich, unfortunately is in real life not the case. :bang: :D

I've been told that my last name means "Sacred" or "Sacrifice". Those are kinda different words, so, um...... who knows?

Agree on that!

And cameras are much less annoying than cigarettes, to the rest of the world (although many think the opposite..)

it's a nice collection, anyway. It's money you spent on them (in opposite to what i did on mine - i.e. wasted)

Hi, Pénzes is my real name, and I'm unfortunately not rich, but I spend my money on cameras in the past few years. This was my focus till now. I don't smoke, or drink (to much), so life is all about priority's.

I own one Leica, M5, Black 3 Lug (Bubba)
SN: 1363596

Also, guys, theres a first M5 on the list!.. Any others?.. I will wait here couple more hours, for you, to see your cameras on the list!.. So, make your pictures, and hurry up to write your beauty in the List!..

So, here the missing pictures:

M7-33.jpg

This one has the improved viewfinder, 0,58. The camera had 5 years of guarantee. I guess it was a special edition, the DX reader is still mechanical.

Anybody else?..

M2 users?.. M5?.. How about lots of M6 users wainting out there to put your camera on the List...

How about you, Tom A, I bet you have some interesting cameras to show ;)

Black M5
Serial Number 1350964
P. Lynn Miller
Sydney, Australia

Well-used with a recently non-functioning meter in desperate need of a CLA. Possibly new leading shutter curtain as well although the DIY hole repair is holding up well. Will need new Vulcanite as well at some point in the future and I want to upgrade the finder to a .85x as some point. But I need to acquire a spare M5 to use while this one is being refurbished.

That's a nice camera you have there!.. I suggest, you like only M5s, and you don't want M6ttl with VF 0.85?.. What's with meter?..
