Nikon 105/25, one hell of a lens

hahaha thanks Rover,
she's my (young) friend Nicla, 20 y.o., a friend's daughter also on facebook. We were at her mother birthday on March 13th.

As long as her mom knows I am also of Italian heritage, and I am a damn good cook....

She is very pretty.

A little excursus:
Her older sister Mara, taken with D700 and Tamron 90 mm - 4500 iso F/3 (wide open given its macro feature) - 1/30s handheld.

Hi guys, can you help me out with something? Can you have a look at this ad and let me know if it's Ai-S version? Also asked the guy for serial number.

Don't try to overbid me though ;)

edit: deciphered the serial # from the photo, appears to be Ai version. Which I guess isn't that different from Ai-S and should work on my F3 and D700 just the same. I'm getting it :)

Phantomas: that looks like the AI version, not AIs. You should be fine with it. The AIs versions are required for some cameras operating on full-program mode.

The AIS version has the last F-Stop number in Orange on the Aperture-Direct-Readout (ADR, little numbers) scale.

I am not a Nikon user but this lens is the biggest temptation to me regarding buying an FM3a. I just picked up a m mount copy, so hopefully that will keep the temptation under control.
Oh it mates so nice with the FM3a.

One of my favorite lenses :) I have two, one non-ai, and the other ai (because I didn't want to do the conversion on the non-ai version and I wanted to use it on my D100).

Here's a sample taken with my Nikon D100:

It is an amazing lens. I have one for the Nikon SLR and one for the RF cameras. Both of mine are of the Sonnar type.

I picked one up this May for $125.00 and wow, what a lens! Ektar loves it on my F3!

defiantly on the F3

I have an M LTM version of this lens. It is HEAVY!! but the renderings are beautiful! I will see if I have any shots that are scanned. I also have the E-type version for the F-mount which is super cheap and light!

Guess what? It's the first time I see a real "bobcat" although this term is used here to define some model of digging and working machines. Here all cats are "homely"

Bump for this great lens. So I ended up getting it after reading this thread (thanks all for the tips!) and after a few weeks finally took it out to play. I must say - this lens certanly has character. I like it very much. Best $100 spent in a long time!

Here are the first shots. Nothing serious, just playing around with friends' faces while drinking beer. I like how this lens gets right into peoples faces, tight, great FL for portraits. Shot on D700:
