I was looking at an alternative to my M4 and came across a Hexar RF body priced at $800. I would use it with mainly Voigtlander lenses (50/1.1, 35/1.4, 28/1.9). Can anybody recommend the Hexar at the said price?

Regarding the price, I am not familiar with the US market, since I am UK based and I don't know whether there is a substantial price differential between the two markets in the case of the Hexar RF like there is with many other things. You don't mention the condition, whether it is a private seller or a shop. I have two Hexar RF bodies, one in absolutely mint condition and one with some obvious signs of use. Both were bought from professional dealers (with 6 month warranties) and I paid £550 and £400 respectively, so assuming a direct conversion between $ and £ the price seems reasonable, but like I said, I don't know the US market.

Also, you might want to ask one of the mods to move this thread - there is a dedicated subforum for the Hexar RF and you might get more responses there.
 
I don't know a thing about Hexar RF's, but I was just bumbling around trying to learn about RF's in general and it just so happens there is a Hexar RF Limited with a Hexanon M 50/1.2 for $514 at Amazon.com right now being sold by a seller by the name of Havenave.

The condition is supposedly very good.

Doesn't the price on this Limited Edition kit with a 50/1.2 seem ridiculously low?

I'm not in the market for it right now; just curious, but what am I missing?

Wouldn't that camera normally cost that much or more all by itself, not including a super fast Hexanon? What up?
 
It appears the seller corrected the ad:

"READ FIRST: M-Hexanon 50mm F2 lens only, no camera body, lens in good condition, classes perfect. Fast ship from NYC. "

The prices on german forums for the body alone were around 500 EUR the last month (from private sellers). Limited edition with the 1.2 lens for 500 USD is not real.

LOL... Well that sure changed the situation in a hurry. Whew! 😱

I was just looking into selling my best friends first born toddler to come up with the $520. 😀
