35mm Voigtländer Color Skopar f/2.5 surprisingly good

Of course I'd love a 35mm Nokton but until then I'm more than happy with my Skopar PII as well. Never left my M8 until I recently bought a Nokton 50mm f/1.5 which is even better, gotta love CV for producing these fabulous lenses! 🙂
 
Under the right conditions, this lens is actually a pretty good night shooter...

I have the classic 35mm skopar LTM mount on my M4P. heres some of my shots during an assignment last Thursday.

this photo was taken on August 19, 2010 during a demolition in Luzon Avenue Quezon City.

for couple weeks I been documenting housing conditions in Manila. when I received an information about this demolition I rushed to the site to cover it. these were the first few frames I shot.

A tin roof fell during the demolition, it supposed to be going to hit the child but her mother manage to hold her and cover her. the girl was so terrified. large debris were flying above our heads from all the directions as the informal settlers defending their homes and the demolition personnels counters.

the demolition personnels failed to demolish the community but the settlers still worries on their uncertainty.

Police found some ice picks that were allegedly from the informal settlers that will try to stab demolition personels.

some settlers were injured from the clash.

That 35mm lens from CV is for sure not bad but most important is the person using the lens ... 🙂

I bought a s/h 25 a few days ago for my Leica Standard, and your comments reflected my intentions exactly - the click-stops mean I can focus by 'feel' and don't even have to look down: in theory... I'll see how it goes in pactice...

I really want the 35mm f1.2 from Voigtlander but the price tag is out of my range at the moment. The only lens I had for my M6 was the 50mm ZM planar f2. So when I saw the Voigtlander f2.5 the other day for sale I jumped at it.

Long story short, I´m really happy I did. A bit to small for me but getting used to it, had a little problem at first adjusting the aperture but does not bother me any more.
Shot a Trix through it the other day and developed it last night and when I started scanning it I was surprised how sharp it is.

I think this little gem will be on my M6 for a while 🙂

Really nice pics of your kids and I`m amazed with the sharpness of that lens. May I ask you what did you use for scanning film?

I bought this lens as my first rangefinder lens after reading this thread, can't say I've regretted it so far ^^
(I don't like how big the lenscap is in comparison with the lens tho ..)
 
I have the Pancake II which is optically the same. Great value for money compared to Leica and performance which is only marginally bettered by my 35 summarit. Its a great body cap to go everywhere.
