so, there i was, my new-to-me summarit in hand and worrying about gee it might be a little soft compared to all the modern miracles i've gotten used to

WRONG

it's lovely. soft, yes. worrisome, no.

plus, a reading of my also new-to-me bruce davidson box set reminded me of why maybe sharpness isn't the most important thing.

Why Yes,
Summirit OOF is just the prettyist! I have one with no fog but some sleazing marks & it is so pretty.

Either get a hood or be careful mine does flair because of the coatings.

The summarit is one lens I regret selling . It has great oof areas but when you close it down to f2 or better it sharpens up quite a bit.
