OK, I've got more than my fair share of gear and accessories but I must say I have never seen anyone use the Leica Lens Holder. It strikes me as maybe being nice to have a second small lens (think VC 28mm) hanging there for convenience but seems pretty unwieldy to me.
They even state that it can serve as a grip (the attached lens!) or even be used as a monopod if need be.
Anyway, if anyone uses one I'd love to hear about your experiences.

Here's a pic of this stylish solution in action. Can you imagine shooting this in Portrait mode with a lens hanging off!

Oh no, I still put the lenses in my jacket.

I used to have the Benser 2-lens version. INCREDIBLY heavy with two lenses on it: VERY hard on the neck.

I've considered one, I have 2 lenses. a 28/1.9 CV and a Zeiss 50mm f/1.5 C-Sonnar....
Give us some experiences that may be beneficial?
I think, as you say, a small lens may good.
When, changing lenses, is it awkward?
How about changing film, Do you have to find a bench or chair?

I can't find a good picture but Haber & Fink made a 3 lens "Turret" for the front of screw mount Leica's. It's incredibly goofy but kudos for the ingenuity behind it. It sat on the front of the camera and rotated lenses into the shooting position.

When I first moved to Leica I thought that looked like a great idea. Now I have a few lenses that do not seem to fit tightly in the cap. Would be scary having those hanging down like that.

I've never even seen one, but I think they have essentially a bayonet camera-like mount that locks the lens into place, not just a loose, rear cap-like attachment. My rear lens caps fall off all the time, I would never trust an attachment like that in this sort of arrangement. Might be handy for just two small lenses (say, a 28 and a 15).

The lens holder has been around for a long time.
I can imagine it being useful in certain situations but walking around with it would be awkward.
Lets say your sitting down at the tennis... Then this could be useful.
Or at a childs birthday party. Having the ability of changing focal lengths quickly would be very useful.

Kent,
I have one : not used it since I now fit GMP grips.
But in the the past, I've used it walkabout with a 35 + 90 f/2.8 combo.
Will bring it on Saturday if you want a play.

Even if this wasn't cumbersome, can you imagine dropping that set up?
I've never dropped my cameras but this is sort of silly and seems like a good set up to fumble your camera and 2 lenses into the clutches of gravity

I have one, but never use it. Matter of fact, it took me months to figure out what the he** it was for! I tried it once or twice, but it honestly felt like an answer to a question that no-one asked.
