had the G1 green label / I just could not get into the AF aspect

I favor the 45mm lens the most on the G1.
The AF will not snap in when a wrong lens hood is used and it covers the path of the ray.

That's what the manual focus setting is for. I sometimes use huge (75mm) rectangular Grad ND on my G1/G2, so I set the focus manually to the hyperfocal distance. Also, I meter the scene before putting the filter on. It works great, if somewhat slow.

That's a great deal and those lenses are my favourites, too. The G2 is a fantastic camera, if a little quirky at times. Those quirks are soon forgotten when you get the pictures back though - the G lenses are simply superb and well worth the time invested in mastering the G2.

I plan to go on another trawler (open deck one) maybe in november

It is a bit complicated for I have a company interested by my profile and they should have a job for me very soon (not as photographer i am a mechanical engineer )
