M9 with Voigländer Heliar 15mm ?

Here's what I found so far: if the lens is coded (either physically or through the manual menu) as a pre--ASPH 21mm Elmarit-M, the 15 Heliar will be adequately corrected @ ISO 160 that Cornerfix isn't necessary. Up to 320/400 also unless you're shooting something with blank white at the borders. Lens aperture doesn't seem to be a factor (and I have always shot that lens at f/5.6, where it seems to perform the best, and stopping down really isn't necessary for depth anyway).

For shots at higher ISO's, there are two options. The first is to leave the lens coded as the pre-ASPH Elmarit 21mm and make specific Cornerfix profiles for each ISO from at least 640 (full stops are enough). The other, and simpler option is to turn lens recognition off (or use an uncoded flange) and then you only need one Cornerfix profile.

BTW, the Elmarit-M 21/2.8 pre-ASPH code and ISO 160 also suffices well for the 21mm Skopar and 12mm too.

Have the 15 heliar and used it on my M9. Cornerfix virtually eliminates the funky colors.

Have some pictures on my flickr stream with this lens.

Most recently am using it on my second m8 body and use it like a point and shoot while at 5.6.

On the M9, i coded it as the WATE @ 16, I also read somewhere that it works with the 21 elmarit coding.

Nice lens though, for the price.

Mine makes red edges also with 21 coding, I code it as WATE and make my corrections with a selfmade PS action in LAB mode. Quicker as Cornerfix and more flexible.

I bought mine after Sean Reids review on the Heliar/ M8 combo. IQ on M9 is excellent, postprocessing is worth the (small) effort.

Mine seems to work just fine coded as a WATE.

My 15 is coded as a WATE (permanently milled adapter), but I found that I could see the red especially on the left side, even on the LCD. Switching to manually-input coding for the pre-ASPH Elmarit took care of it, but as I said, only completely at ISO 160. I hear tell there is some sample variation in these lenses, so that might account for the difference in our experiences.

On the M9, i coded it as the WATE @ 16,

As I understand it, the M9 has only one algorithm for the WATE regardless of the focal length set on the lens (the reason the M9 doesn't ask for selection with auto-lens-recognition). The reason why they put it in the manual coding menu (other lenses that are made only in 6-bit versions do not appear) for the different focal lengths is supposedly only to put the focal length into EXIF.

It's not just lens variation that comes into play; individual M9's can vary as well, resulting in differing amounts of "red edge" in your images. Best to use CornerFix for the best results.

Works best on my M9 coded as 21 non-asph. There is red edge which is easily removed with lightroom.
