Camera Work

I really love Diane Arbus' work. Interestingly enough, her photos really fascinate some friends of mine who otherwise have little interest in photography. I think its the absurdity of some of the scenes that really appeals to them. She's a favorite of mine, too. Her's is one of my favorite books from my recent raid on my parents shelf.

On another note: Is everything shown on the Fraenkel Gallery site for sale? If so, thats a pretty incredible collection of works. And my dorm room could use some more art... ;)

Emmet Gowin:

My father's photography teacher through college and a tremendous inspiration to him. Pages two and on are my favorite stuff of his. First page doesn't really do it for me.

I think the 5x7 hanging around my house is a Deardorff, so no saving for me! When I head back home for Thanksgiving, I'm going to give LF a shot.

There is a 4x5 Zone VI in a closet aswell, I have no shortage of gear. I'll make some portraits and post them here. Anything special as far as exposure goes?
