I was extremely hesitant to even try a new "format" when it came to digital.
I was happy with the Ricoh GRD II and my Nikon D700s.
But thanks to Hubert and Nancy I started reconsidering the Micro 4/3s format. I knew that I could use the M-mount lenses yet I hadn't bothered to consider the format or any of the cameras.
Yet, in the past week and a half, because Hubert recently got an Olympus E-P1, I started looking at this format.
I picked up an Olympus E-P2 and the 17mm lens but it wasn't until I bought the Voigtlander M to M4/3 adapter did I really get this camera.
I'm hooked.
I've tried the M9 - but I was not impressed for the price. But this little camera, less expensive, more *lol* "discreet" makes me smile.
I've been able to mount my M lenses - and they all kick butt... the only way I'll be using the af lenses is for any wide/uber wide shots.. outside of that, this format is great and I'm glad I went this route rather than upgrading my Ricoh.
The Ricoh is a perfectly capable camera.. but this allows me so much more functionality with lenses I already own...
Cheers,
Dave

hehe... sorry.. the plural of the D700... hence.. multiple D700s

Have the same problem with my two Canon 7 bodies. I never refer to them as my Canon 7s.
I have two Olympus EP2 bodies.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the Olympus. I just picked up an EPL1 and have to say I'm loving it. It fits in my small camera bag next to my M6, and it might replace the Minilux I usually carry for colour slide shots (the EPL1 jpegs are excellent, especially in vivid-mode). I've got an adapter on order and can't wait to try it with my M-mount lenses. Cheers!

Ha, just giving you a hard time!
I've heard that the button layout/user interface is overly complicated when using M lenses (compared to the GF1, at least). Have you experienced any difficulty with this?

Not really.
Then again, I didn't really look at the GF-1 because when I held it, it felt like it was going to slip out of my hand.
I can definitely see the benefit of using/getting the EVF for the camera when using the M-mount lenses. It definitely is a benefit for focusing compared to using the LCD (with respect to the Olympus).
Cheers,
Dave

not actually
I've found that my EP-2 is great for portraits, since I don't own any long lenses in a native format.
Both taken with the nokton 35/1.2
I have a summitar that I use as well for a more vintage feel:

I've heard that the EVF for the E-P2 is amazing. I've tossed around the idea of selling my D3 for an M6 and E-P2, but I haven't made up my mind yet. It would be a drastic change, no doubt, but it is tempting.

my D300 with 10kg glass is sitting on the shelf since my E-P2 with viewfinder, the 20mm Pana and the std.-zoomlens arrived by post. At first I had doubts about AF speed due to my candid shooting but he Pen is faster than I with my Bessas......
The Pen is the first camera which turned me back to colour photography. Visiting two different locations in the last months, the Pen is THE buddy for my streetwork. The colours (RAW&LR3) are fine without tweaking too much.
People just don't see me, or when, it's too late, the cam plus lenses is so light and small and compare to a Leica M8/9 there is no hassle with wrong colours, shifts in the corners or stucking shutters as other failures.
My lenses from Leica which I used for b&w only have now a second life, the Novoflex adapter works well.
In the age of 63 I'm not the menue-wizard but the Pen is easy to handle:
1 button (FN) for the setting of MF/AF and the second button (OK) for magnifying the focus spot - that's it.
Nothing disturbes me while scanning the scenes....
