Sorry it's another what to take thread, I am traveling to India soon
I will carry my M2+ Lens/35m F2.8/25m F4/50m F2. Its the back up I am
questioning.
Sticking to film my choices are Yashica GX fixed 1.7 RF or Nikon FE +35m F2/ 50m F1.8

A second M2 is not an option then? Otherwise you'll only run into problems like there's this nice closeup shot that would look just right in B&W but you put colour film into your Nikon.
With a second M body you'd also have to carry less extra lenses.

Another Leica M mount is the only feasible backup.

thinking backup, another M would indeed be the best option, but in case you ant to stick to the yashica or the nikon, i'd go for the nikon, as you might benefit from having a different camera type (closer focus, for instance). if weight is a concern, then take the yashica.
