Just sent some funds to Tamarkin Camera in NY for a nice companion to my newest Leica body.

Another body.

Who's the RFF member who called his cameras Bigfoot and Bubba? I may follow suit. 😉

I'm sure you already know what I did...

I have lost track Francisco....

I currently the proud father of an M4, M2 and 2 M3s (one SS and one DS).

What is in your stable at this time?

Tremendous! You really are a convert! (wink-wink, secret handshake stuff, etc...)

I only have one of those in my kit but like it's non-metered peer, it's a complete joy to use. Post a picture of the pair someday.

Congrats!

Whatever it is, congratulations on the addition to your family. I was looking through their auction catalog and noticed a brand new Black M2 up for bid next month.

Been there. Done that. Only Bigfoot remains. Bubba was sent to another RFF member to make way for R2D2. One of the M5 cameras in the RFF classifieds is sooooooooooooooo tempting. I must be strong.

Francisco- So you're now a multiple M5 owner if I'm reading this correctly?!? They do grow on you...just yesterday I enjoyed a full day of shooting with mine and it was terrific, as usual.

Be happy that the S2 is going bye bye. My flirtation with the Nikon RF system resulted in one of my worst ever buying binges. I still have all my lenses but have thankfully sold all the bodies excep my vintage chrome SP (which I think you sa actually!).

Anyway, enjoy the new toy!

Kent

Francisco,

Hey, it could be worse: I am looking for a mint black M4-P to slot in between my M4-2 and M6 cameras. 🙂 Have you healed up ok? That's the big stuff, health. Anyway, enjoy that chrome M5. Two lug? Three lug?

Hmmmm Bob, you may need a nice M5 one of these days to complete the set 😉

Ralph, I have enjoyed using my three metered bodies (2 M6TTL and M5) but for some reason I still get some more excitement from my M4-2 and my one and only M3.

Kent, learning about your experience makes me feel less guilty. I did like the S2, but a point came in which I found myself longing for an SP... and that wasn't promising. Nikon RF are beautiful machines, but you cannot really "cultivate" them because they're so rare and expensive. The S2 was a nice relationship... but it led nowhere. Better that someone who uses it have the camera, not me.

Bob, it's a two-lug, with a SN of 135XXXX, adapted to use 1.5 V batteries. I'm sure Sherry worked on this one, or somebody who knows about them.

Gotta clean my Canon 50mm f1.2... and prep my Summilux 35. Those two will make a nice combination with this body! 🙂

Sibling rivalry?

Sibling rivalry?

Just now, as I was contemplating reloading my black M5, the film counter stopped working. It just didn't reset itself when I took off the bottom plate. Is there a quick fix for this?

I tested it with a roll of dummy film. The camera works fine and advances the film, but the film counter registers nothing.

Sibling rivalry perhaps?

Darn...

Congratulations Francisco. I love my chrome M5. The lines of the M5 are easier to discern in chrome, like with the other Ms. Mine was having a few adjustments so I went on holiday with the M6. Loved the way it almost disappears into my hand, but the opposite bulk and heft of the M5, which I got back yesterday, is also something I love. I think I am better at keeping the M5 horizontal with a 25mm lens on it. I fully understand wanting two, and they are still very good value.

You are lost forever. Never activate the Multi-Tronic Meter System using wall power.

Remember the M5 on Star Trek...

Are you taking name suggestions?
